MERVYN WARREN - Mervyn is an accomplished record producer, arranger, film composer, songwriter, pianist and vocalist, currently working under the umbrellas of his own Los Angeles-based Leapyear Entertainment, Two/Twenty-Nine Music, and Mervyn Warren Music. Mervyn is a five-time Grammy Award winner (10 nominations), and a seven-time Dove Award winner (10 nominations). His immediate background includes singing with Take 6, the contemporary Christian a cappella sextet that took the world by storm in 1988. As an original member of the group, he sang with them from 1980 to 1991. With Take 6 he recorded two albums: one now platinum, and the other, gold. On those albums, Mervyn produced and either co-wrote or arranged most of the award-winning songs. Together they won four Grammy Awards, six Dove Awards, two Stellar Awards and a Soul Train Award. On his own, Mervyn earned an additional Grammy Award (of five nominations), an additional Dove Award (of two nominations), and two Gospel Music Workshop of America Awards, including one for Contemporary Producer of the Year. Mervyn recently completed projects (of various types) with Barbra Streisand, Chicago, Dave Koz, and Boyz II Men."
TIM KIMSEY - Tim has been the Chief Engineer on every ACOUSTIX recording project to date. Besides ACOUSTIX, Tim has engineered songs and albums for artists like Paula Abdul, Vanilla Ice, Grover Washington, Jr. and Pantera. In February of this year, Tim's work was nominated by NARAS for a 1999 Grammy Award in the Category of "Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical" for Kirk Franklin's "The Nu Nation Project".
GREG VOLK - Over the past seven years, Greg has created many outstanding vocal arrangements for ACOUSTIX and other barbershop groups in SPEBSQSA and Sweet Adelines around the globe. His unique style of arranging incorporates many of the idioms and nuances from vocal jazz, doo-wop and contemporary a cappella into the barbershop style. Greg is also known as the baritone of Excalibur, another quartet that has earned a reputation for innovation and musicality within the barbershop world. He lives in Minnesota with his wife and four young children.
